Vista is a private aviation company that allows clients to fly privately without owning a jet. With 4,400 employees and 250 aircraft, the company needed a flexible and scalable recruitment solution to meet its unique needs and operational scope.

The Vista approach

In 2017, Vista’s recruiting team used a homemade database, shared folders and Excel documents. But they needed a better system to keep up with the company’s 25% year-over-year growth. Vista opted for iCIMS due to its scalability and adaptability for businesses breaking into new markets.

Daniel Connacher, Talent Director at Vista, explains that Vista recruits globally, including in Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia, for corporate roles as well as engineers, cabin hosts and pilots.

“When we were evaluating vendors, it was very apparent that some were built for organizations of a specific size. It was obvious to us that iCIMS could scale with us,” says Connacher.

Saving recruiters time

Vista has multiple talent teams that specialize in staffing for specific roles, such as pilots or cabin crews. By narrowing their focus, Vista’s recruiters have a leg up in finding the best of the best.

iCIMS tools have helped Vista’s team get hyperspecific. The integration of screening questions helps eliminate unqualified candidates early in the process. Email templates and self-scheduling tools have streamlined communication and scheduling.

In some territories, such as Hong Kong, Vista’s Europe-based recruiters can now send an interview invite in the evening and interview the candidate in the morning. Prior to iCIMS, interview scheduling took at least 36 hours.

One of the most significant improvements has been the reduction in time to fill. In 2017, Vista took an average of 90 days to fill a position. By implementing iCIMS, Vista cut time to fill by 48%, to an average of 47 days.

Identifying weaknesses to inform strategy

The data-driven insights provided by iCIMS have been instrumental in informing Vista’s hiring decisions. By analyzing offer acceptance rates and sourcing effectiveness, the recruiting team can identify weaknesses early and adjust their strategy as needed. This has led to more efficient budget utilization and a better understanding of seasonal hiring trends.
